Car Seat Basics for Law Enforcement
Car Seat Basics for Law Enforcement is a free training for law enforcement officers who are not currently Child Passenger Safety Technicians. This course lasts about one hour, and equips officers with the knowledge to:
- Take an active role in assessing car seat use according to evidence-based best practices.
- Talk to caregivers about child passenger safety.
- Share local and national child passenger safety resources within the context of regular duties.
Officers learn key child safety concepts through community-based scenarios and receive a quick-reference resource for field use. (Note: This general education course does not qualify for CPST CEUs, however a certificate is provided that may be used to request POST credits.)
